Single stem branches feed faster than multi stem branches because multi stem branches may need to be cut down to fit into the machine opening.
Cut multi stem branches down into smaller feed-able pieces.
Branch piles with cut ends all facing the same direction. To chip fast, cut ends must be fed into the chipper first (left).
If your branch pile resembles a rats nest (on the right), it will take a bit longer to chip.
Fast chipping happens when we can point the cut ends in your branch pile towards the chipper in-feed, so make sure you leave ample space on the cut end side of your branch pile.
If your branches have wide angled stems going off of the main branch, cut the big ones off so that we can immediately feed them without stopping to cut the branch to fit.
Branches must be picked off of the top of branch piles. In our experience, chipping many smaller piles is faster than chipping one giant pile.
DO NOT pile fine loose debris on top of coarse branch piles. Instead set small stuff and loose raked debris aside so we can assess its chippability.
Odd shaped branches with lots of crooked angles, stiff muffy shapes, or awkward lengths should be cut down to a manageable size.
